Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Sahibabad-New Ashok Nagar section of the 13 km long Namo Bharat train in New Ashok Nagar. PM Modi also traveled in the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar. During the journey, he talked to school children and others.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 13 km long Delhi section of the Namo Bharat corridor on Sunday. For the first time, Namo Bharat trains will be seen running underground. Let us tell you that Namo Bharat trains are already running between Meerut South and Sahibabad.
PM Modi inaugurated the 13 km long part of the Delhi-Meerut corridor which is located between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. This corridor will make travel between Delhi and Meerut even more convenient. From the security point of view, traffic was also diverted from 7 am till the end of the program. PM traveled with children in the metro.
With the start of operations on this section, Meerut city will now be directly connected to the national capital Delhi through Namo Bharat. This will reduce the travel time. Apart from this, this project will make travel between Delhi and Meerut even more convenient and will promote trade and tourism between the two cities.
Travel to Meerut for Rs 150
The service will start publicly from 5 pm on Sunday. You will be able to travel to Meerut for just Rs 150 From 5 pm on January 5, Namo Bharat trains will be available to the public at a frequency of 15 minutes.
PM traveled in Namo Bharat train
PM Modi will also travel in Namo Bharat train between Sahibabad RRTS station and New Ashok Nagar RRTS station. Total 11 stations Currently, a 42 km corridor between Sahibabad and Meerut South, consisting of 9 stations, is operational. With this inauguration, the operational section of the Namo Bharat Corridor will increase to 55 km, with a total of 11 stations.
6 km underground
Of this new 13 km section starting from today, 6 km is underground, including Anand Vihar station. This is the first time that Namo Bharat trains will run in the underground section. The second station on this section is New Ashok Nagar which is an elevated station. Both these stations are located in Delhi.

Priority to multi-modal integration
The aim of this project is to make travel comfortable and accessible for passengers. Priority has been given to multi-model integration in the Namo Bharat project. This project has been prepared under the PM Gati Shakti-National Master Plan.
Coaches reserved for women
Every coach of Namo Bharat has reserved seats for women, elderly and Divyang, along with one entire coach reserved for women. At the same time, inside the Namo Bharat trains, there is a separate place for wheelchairs and stretchers. The Namo Bharat project has been built keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. Under this project, all kinds of facilities have been provided for the passengers.
