One terrorist killed in an encounter with security forces in Srinagar, search operation continues
Jammu & Kashmir: The Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police had launched a joint operation in Harwan, Srinagar based on intelligence input. In this operation, they have killed one terrorist. According to the information, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army had started a search operation for the presence of a non-local group.
During this search, the terrorists started firing. After which in retaliation, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have killed one terrorist. This encounter started around 11.30 pm.
Kashmir Zone Police issued a statement
Kashmir Zone Police has said in its statement that based on special intelligence, joint teams of security forces started a cordon and search operation in the upper areas of Dachigam forest. Contact has been established. The operation is ongoing.
Security beefed up in Srinagar
Security has been beefed up as the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint operation in Harwan. All roads leading to the encounter site have been sealed by the police. A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest of Dachigam.

Terrorists hiding in the hills of Jabarwan
While the area where this encounter is taking place is a part of the Dachigam National Park. This part is located among the hills of Jabarwan. Terrorists use the area to go to South Kashmir from Bandipora-Kangan-Ganderbal or to go to Bandipora from South Kashmir via Ganderbal.
