India-focused pricing strategy

Global tech firms often introduce special low-cost plans in India to cater to its price-sensitive market. With nearly a billion internet users, India offers a massive opportunity for OpenAI to expand its reach.

Benefits of ChatGPT Go

The new plan allows users to send 10 times more messages and generate 10 times more images compared to the free version. It also provides faster response times, making it a more powerful option for regular users.

Comparison with other plans

While ChatGPT Go is the most affordable, OpenAI also offers ChatGPT Plus at Rs.1,999/month and ChatGPT Pro at Rs.19,900/month in India. These higher-tier plans include even more advanced features and higher usage limits.

India as a key market

India is already OpenAI’s second-largest market after the United States. CEO Sam Altman has hinted that India could soon surpass the U.S. in user base. Earlier this year, Altman also discussed building a low-cost AI ecosystem with the Indian IT minister.
