Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Denies Nuclear Meeting After India Conflict

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the National Command Authority (NCA), which handles the country’s nuclear weapons and strategy, has not held any meeting and there is no such meeting planned. This comes after a military operation was carried out against India on Saturday morning.

In an interview with ARY TV, Asif firmly stated, “No meeting has happened of the National Command Authority, nor is any such meeting scheduled.”

Earlier, the Pakistani military had mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had called for a meeting of the authority. However, there has been no official update or confirmation from Pakistan's Information Ministry.

At the same time, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister said on local television that if India stops its actions now, Pakistan may also stop.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has spoken to both Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir and India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. He urged both sides to avoid conflict, lower tensions, and re-establish communication to prevent misunderstandings or accidents.
