"Passion meets Purpose”; Sajjad Sait acquires Thrissur Franchise in the upcoming Kerala Cricket League

India: Prominent businessman and former cricketer Sajjad Sait has acquired the Thrissur team in the T20 Kerala Cricket League, to be organized by the Kerala Cricket Association this September. Sajjad, who hails from Thiruvananthapuram, is the director of Finesse Group, a Government of India recognized Star Export House specializing in the export of a diverse range of products. Currently, he is an active player for the Veterans & Cricketers Association of Kerala (VCAK) and has been passionate about cricket since he was eight.

The Kerala Cricket League matches will be held at the iconic Sports Hub, Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, starting from September 2. In addition to the Thrissur team, five other teams will compete in the tournament. The official team announcement and team logo and jersey will be unveiled in Thrissur.

Sajjad expressed his commitment to providing opportunities for talented cricket players in Kerala, who often face challenges in getting noticed. "Our aim is to build a robust team from Thrissur that can compete with the best and also we are in it for the long haul. Along with building the team and competing at the KCL, we would like to contribute to the grassroots development in Thrissur and bring more and more talent to the spotlight," he said.

Sajjad started to play A division league cricket in Trivandrum from the year 1989 and had played for different clubs, earning accolades such as the Best Bowler and Most Valuable Player in the 2014 KMCC Indoor Cricket tournament. Finesse Group, of which Sajjad is a director, also operates a shipping line handling the maximum number of vessels from Tuticorin and owns a construction company.
