Pastor Bajinder Singh Convicted in 2018 Rape Case, Sentencing on April 1
A Mohali court in Punjab has convicted Pastor Bajinder Singh in a rape case filed in 2018. The verdict was announced on March 29, and the quantum of punishment will be decided on April 1. The court, however, acquitted five other individuals who were also named in the case.

Details of the Case
The complainant alleged that Bajinder Singh lured her under the pretext of helping her settle abroad. She claimed he invited her to his residence in Mohali’s Sector 63, where he sexually assaulted her and recorded the act. She further accused him of blackmailing her with the video.
Following the complaint, Singh was arrested at Delhi airport in 2018. However, he was later released on bail.
Additional Legal Troubles for Bajinder Singh
This conviction comes at a time when another woman has accused Bajinder of sexual harassment. A case was registered against him in Kapurthala under charges of stalking, sexual harassment, and criminal intimidation. The woman alleged that in 2002, he touched her inappropriately and threatened her family.
Additionally, on March 25, Singh was booked again after a viral video showed him slapping a woman. The 40-year-old complainant, who worked with his ministry for over a decade, accused him of assault and attempted strangulation. The case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Bajinder Singh runs two churches—one in Jalandhar’s Tajpur and another in Mohali’s Majri. He began preaching in 2012 and claims to oversee 260 churches worldwide. His sermons and healing sessions attract large crowds and are streamed live on his YouTube channel, which has over 3.74 million subscribers.
