PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti wrote letter to Omar Abdullah, raised issue of dismissed government employees

Ex Jammu and Kashmir CM and People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has written a letter to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. In this letter, PDP chief has been mentioned those government employees who have been dismissed from their jobs on charges of terrorism.

While Mehbooba has demanded the reinstatement of government employees dismissed on charges of terrorism in her letter. She has also shared this letter on social media. She said that CM Omar Abdullah should also pay attention to the plight of those victim families. Who have been arbitrarily dismissed from government jobs without any investigation and fair hearing.

Mehbooba latter to J&K CM

Let us tell you, in her letter written on Sunday, November 10, Mehbooba urged Omar to adopt a human approach while considering the impact of these dismissals. She said the process has been underway since the formation of a task force in 2021, aimed at investigating employees suspected of activities potentially meriting dismissal under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution.

According to official records, the task force has so far dismissed at least 70 government employees.

Issue of dismissed government employees

Mehbooba recently met the family of Nazir Ahmad Wani in Bello, Pulwama, where she "witnessed first-hand the painful consequences of such actions." Describing Wani's condition, Mehbooba said he was a "dedicated tehsildar" who faced dismissal under Article 311, arrest under the UAPA and "many years in prison, after which the courts finally acquitted him of all charges." He also suffered serious health ailments, which led to his death of a heart attack on October 27, 2024. Mehbooba said his bereaved family - which includes his wife and five children - are inconsolable. The victim's family is now facing difficulties in getting their pension and other benefits.
