Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor's Meet (RE-INVEST) 2024 today, September 16, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This significant event is aimed at attracting global investments in India's renewable energy sector, and it showcases India's commitment to becoming a leader in green energy.
PM Modi's Vision for India's Future
In his address, PM Modi emphasized that India is seen as the best bet for the 21st century by the entire world. He highlighted that India's long-term vision is not just to reach the top, but to sustain its position for the next 1,000 years.
Modi also stressed the collective ambition of 140 crore Indians to make India the world's third-largest economy. He noted that in the first 100 days of his third term, the government has worked to address various sectors for rapid progress.
Development of Model Solar Cities
PM Modi discussed the government's focus on solar energy, with plans to develop Ayodhya and 16 other cities as model solar cities. This highlights India's push towards renewable energy as a key driver for future development.

The central theme of RE-INVEST 2024 is Mission 500 GW, underscoring India's ambition to expand its renewable energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030. India already ranks as the 4th largest country in terms of installed renewable energy capacity, and this mission aims to solidify India's global leadership in energy transition.
Global Participation and International Partners
The event is expected to draw over 10,000 delegates, including key figures from government, industry, and finance. This year's key international partners include Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, demonstrating strong global collaboration in the renewable energy sector.
High-level delegations from countries like the US, UK, Belgium, the European Union, Oman, UAE, Singapore, and Hong Kong will also attend. Some delegations, such as those from Germany and Denmark, will be led by ministers.

States such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh are actively participating in the event, highlighting their individual efforts to promote renewable energy and attract investments.
