PM Modi laid foundation stone of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Linking Project, farmers will benefited too
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Linking Project between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in Jaipur. This project is very important for the farmers and citizens of both the states, because it will solve the water crisis as well as bring huge improvement in the agriculture sector. On this occasion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Waterpower Minister CR Patil was also present with Prime Minister Modi.
Water crisis of two states will be solved
The biggest thing is that this project will solve the issue of water sharing between the two states, which was a cause of dispute for the last 20 years. Now, through this project, lakhs of people of both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will get relief from water crisis. This will provide water for irrigation to the farmers of these states and will also solve the problem of drinking water in many areas. The benefits of this project will not be limited to Rajasthan only, but water supply will also be ensured in many districts of Madhya Pradesh.
About 40 lakh people of 12 districts including many districts of Madhya Pradesh like Indore, Guna, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Agar-Malwa and Sheopur will get drinking water from this project. Apart from this, farmers of Malwa and Chambal region will also get water for irrigation. With about 6 lakh 13 thousand hectares of land getting water for irrigation, the crops of the farmers will improve, and they will not have to worry about water.
20-year-old dispute resolved, now there will be equal distribution of water
This project will resolve the dispute of water distribution going on for 20 years. Differences had come up many times between the two states regarding water, but now this project will open the way to end these disputes. Prime Minister Modi said on this occasion that this is a historic day, when the Chief Ministers of both the states have come together and succeeded in reaching an agreement on water distribution. This will benefit millions of people of both the states and their standard of living will improve.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this project. He wrote on social media, "The gift of water scheme pending for twenty years is now being given to both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
