Politics has intensified between BJP and Congress over Delhi University naming a college after India's freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. Meanwhile today, the PM Modi can lay the foundation stone of a collage on the name Veer Savarkar. Let us tell you that two new campuses of Delhi University (DU) are going to be built in East and West Delhi. Along with this, there is also a possibility of laying the foundation stone of a college which can be named after Veer Savarkar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects in Delhi on Friday. The PMO has informed that the PM will inaugurate 1675 newly built flats for slum dwellers in Ashok Vihar. He will also hand over the keys of Swabhiman Apartments to eligible beneficiaries

PM will lay the foundation stone of two new university campuses

Along with this, university sources say that PM Modi can also lay the foundation stone of two universities in Delhi. Delhi University already has North and South Campus. The proposed universities will be built in East and West Delhi. The proposed eastern campus in Surajmal Vihar will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 373 crore, while the western campus in Dwarka is expected to cost Rs 107 crore.

140 crore: College in the name of Veer Savarkar

A college will be built in the name of Veer Savarkar near the UER Highway in Roshanpura, Najafgarh, just 5 minutes away from the West Campus. This college with an area of ​​18,816.56 square meters at a cost of about Rs 140 crore will have facilities like 24 classrooms, 8 tutorial rooms, a canteen and 40 faculty rooms along with department library, conference room.

In 2021, discussions were also intensified on the college of Najafgarh along with East Campus, West Campus. However, the wait to start it also became long. A proposal to name the college after Veer Savarkar was also given in the same year.

Land has been allotted at these places

DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh was given the authority to choose the name from a group of names for two upcoming colleges. Other names included Swami Vivekananda, Vallabhbhai Patel, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Savitribai Phule.

PM Gifts to these areas of Delhi too

The area has been transformed by replacing more than 600 old quarters in Naoroji Nagar with ultra-modern commercial towers. This has also provided about 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space with modern facilities. The GPRA Type-II quarters in Sarojini Nagar include 28 towers, which have more than 2500 residential units. The PM will also inaugurate the Integrated Office Complex of CBSE in Dwarka, on which about Rs 300 crore has been spent.
