Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Hospitalized

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to a hospital in Mohali early Thursday morning. This follows unverified reports that he had been hospitalized in Delhi after feeling unwell upon arriving at Chandigarh airport. Officials have confirmed that he is undergoing routine tests and is in stable condition.

Spokesperson's Statement

A spokesperson stated, “He got admitted in the morning to conduct some tests. There is no health issue; these are just routine tests requiring admission. There is nothing more to interpret from this.”

Recent Engagements

Just hours before his admission, CM Mann met with a large group of 1,158 assistant professors and librarians to discuss recruitment issues. They visited him to express their gratitude following a favorable High Court ruling.

Social Media Reactions

The news of Mann’s hospitalization also drew a message from Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who wished him a speedy recovery. This came after Majithia claimed that Mann had been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi, a statement that was denied by Mann’s aides.

Recent Government Changes

Earlier this week, CM Mann made changes to his cabinet by inducting five new ministers. The new ministers took their oaths at Raj Bhavan, while Mann restructured his portfolio, shedding responsibilities in jail, industry and commerce, and housing and urban development. He now oversees eight ministries, including Home Affairs and Sports.
