Rajinikanth ’s Jailer 2 Begins Filming: Muthuvel Pandian Returns
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has gone on floors today, bringing back his iconic character, Muthuvel Pandian. The film’s production house, Sun Pictures, announced the news on social media with a striking poster and the caption, "Muthuvel Pandian’s hunt begins! #Jailer2 shoot starts today."

Exciting Teaser Announcement
Back in January, the makers revealed the sequel with a teaser video featuring director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The video showed them relaxing at a beach house in Goa while brainstorming ideas for the film.
Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar’s Reunion
Jailer 2 marks Nelson Dilipkumar’s second project with Rajinikanth. The film is backed by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. However, the rest of the cast is yet to be revealed.
Jailer’s Massive Success
The first part, Jailer, was a blockbuster, becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies. It told the gripping story of a former jail warden who sets out on a revenge mission after his son goes missing. The film featured an ensemble cast including Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu, along with special appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.
Tamannaah Praises Rajinikanth
Tamannaah Bhatia, who delivered a hit dance number Kaavaalaa in Jailer, shared her experience of working with Rajinikanth. On a podcast, she said, "He is the purest person I’ve ever met. Despite his legendary status and massive fan following, he remains the most humble person I know."
Rajinikanth ’s Work front
Apart from Jailer 2, Rajinikanth is also working on Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Recently, he was seen in Lal Salaam, helmed by his daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth.
