Record-Breaker! Tim David Smashes Unbeaten 102 to Seal Series
In a high-voltage clash at Warner Park, St Kitts, Tim David etched his name into Australian cricket history books by smashing the fastest T20I century for his nation. His unbeaten 102 off just 37 balls not only stunned the West Indies but also secured Australia an emphatic six-wicket win with 23 balls to spare.
Chasing a daunting target of 215, Australia found themselves in trouble at 87 for 4 in the ninth over. But David turned the game on its head with a breathtaking onslaught, punishing the West Indies spinners with power and precision.

Brutal Onslaught Changes the Game
David’s blitz began when he took on the spinners—especially Gudakesh Motie—hitting four consecutive sixes in one over. His fireworks included 11 sixes and six boundaries overall. He was dropped on 90 but wasted no time reaching the milestone with a fine leg-glanced four. He formed an unbroken 128-run partnership with Mitchell Owen (36 off 16), guiding Australia to their 10th win in the last 11 T20Is.
Tim David’s Dream Moment
“I didn’t think I’d get a chance to score a hundred for Australia,” David told ESPN. “It’s a proud moment. The conditions were perfect — small boundaries and a strong breeze — so I just backed my strengths.” David’s 102* also became his highest T20I score, surpassing the 92 he once scored for Singapore.
Hope’s Heroics in Vain
Earlier, West Indies looked dominant with a flying start from Shai Hope and Brandon King. The duo racked up 125 runs in just 11.4 overs, with Hope remaining unbeaten on 102 off 57 balls — his first T20I century. Despite being 161 for 1 in the 15th over, the Windies managed only 49 runs in their last five, thanks to disciplined bowling from Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis.
Bowlers Struggle, but Finish Strong
Australia started the chase strongly but lost quick wickets, with Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Marsh, and Green falling cheaply. The spinners, especially Zampa (1-51) and Maxwell (0-31), had a tough day as they were attacked relentlessly in the middle overs.
The series will wrap up with the final two matches scheduled at the same venue.
