Rishabh Pant Skips Wicketkeeping Practice After Knee Injury – Seen Limping
The Indian cricket team continued their training in Dubai ahead of their Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh. However, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant appeared uncomfortable on Monday, skipping wicketkeeping drills and showing signs of discomfort while batting.

On Sunday, Pant suffered a knee injury when a powerful shot from Hardik Pandya struck him during practice. Although the physio attended to him immediately, he continued training later, suggesting the injury was not serious. However, his movements in the latest session raised concerns as he was seen limping slightly.

KL Rahul Focuses on Finisher’s Role
With Pant’s fitness in question, KL Rahul took extra effort in training to strengthen his finishing skills. Head coach Gautam Gambhir has backed Rahul as India’s primary wicketkeeper, but his batting position remains uncertain. Likely to play at No. 5 or 6, Rahul concentrated on hitting sixes, showing an aggressive approach in the nets.
India’s Batting Stars Look in Form
Other Indian players also had an intense session. Shreyas Iyer worked on his big-hitting, while Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma looked in great touch, playing a variety of elegant strokes.
As India prepares for their first match, all eyes will be on Pant’s recovery and Rahul’s role in the playing XI.
