Astronaut Sunita Williams: The astronaut  Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who in is International Space Station  now. They will not be able to return this year. NASA released a statement regarding  this on Saturday  that the aircraft, will not be able to return this year. In the meanwhile astronut  Sunita Williams and his campaign  Butch Wilmore reached the space station in June 2024 by Boeing aircraft. However there return was postponed due to a malfunction in the capsule of Boeing Starliner. The aero station NASA chief Bill Nelson said that both  astronauts will return on Earth by boarding SpaceX's rocket. He told that the propulsion systems of Starliner are faulty, so it is  risky for astronauts to return to Earth by this vehicle. In which they are right now. He also said that now  the astronauts are expected to return on Earth in February 2025. NASA further  said that SpaceX Crew Dragon will be launched next month as part of a regular astronaut rotation mission. Out of the four seats of this vehicle, two seats will be kept vacant for Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, the Starliner capsule will separate from the International Space Station without any crew members and will try to return to Earth without astronauts.

His company Spacex  has considered to be Boeing's biggest competitor, but at present Boeing is under question regarding the quality of its aircraft. The return of astronauts by Boeing aircraft is very risky. In such a situation, NASA has chosen SpaceX Crew Dragon for their return. Boeing hoped that its Starliner would achieve its goal this time after many years of hard work, but so far it seems to be failing. In the year 2016, Boeing had set a target of $ 1.6 billion for the development of Starliner, but now it is increasing.

Sunita stuck in space for 80 days

The Indian-origin astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are former military test pilots and are experienced. Hence  astronauts were the first pilots to ride the Boeing Starliner. They flew to the ISS on June 5 for 8 days, but due  to malfunction in the propulsion system of the Boeing aircraft, they had shucked  in space from the last 80 days. At that time it was told that the return to Earth has been postponed due to leakage of helium gas from the capsule. Despite all efforts, the leak could not be fixed, after which NASA has now chosen the SpaceX aircraft for the return of the astronauts.

 

How Sunita and his partner Wilmore will spanned  8 more months at  space?

In his statement NASA said that both the astronauts have already stayed in space for a long time. In such a situation, they understand the risks associated with the test flight. NASA said that for the next few months they will do scientific work on the space station, repair work in space. In their stay in space for a long time, they have to eat better and exercise for two and a half hours. During this time, muscles and bones need to be kept strong. In space. Both the astronauts will have to take a lot of precautions to stay for a long time.
