Supreme Court Closes Case Against Isha Foundation
On Friday, the Supreme Court ended a case regarding the alleged illegal confinement of two women at Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation. The court made this decision after the women stated that they were staying at the ashram willingly. The case began when the father of the two women filed a habeas corpus petition. He claimed that his daughters were being held against their will at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore.
Court Proceedings
A bench consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra heard the case. During the proceedings, the two women confirmed to the court that they were living at the ashram voluntarily.
