Telangana Businessman Murdered: Police Arrest Wife and Accomplices
Telangana Businessman Murdered: In a shocking case, the police cracked the gruesome murder of a Telangana businessman, Ramesh, allegedly orchestrated by his wife, Niharika, over an argument regarding Rs. 8 crore. The investigation led to the arrest of Niharika, her lover Nikhil, and an accomplice named Ankur after a charred body was discovered in Karnataka's Kodagu district.
Body Found, Identification Challenges
The burned body, found near a coffee plantation in Kodagu, was so badly damaged that it initially could not be identified. Investigators faced a major hurdle in determining the victim’s identity but quickly turned their focus to a Mercedes Benz spotted in the area through CCTV footage, as such a car was unusual in the rural setting at night.
The Plot Unveiled
Upon her arrest, Niharika, aged 29, revealed the motive behind the murder. She was reportedly upset when Ramesh denied her Rs. 8 crore. Niharika, who was already involved in another financial fraud case, had an extramarital affair with Nikhil. Enraged by her husband’s refusal, she allegedly choked him to death at their home in Uppal, Hyderabad.
Disposal of the Body
After the murder, Niharika and her accomplices took the body, covered it in a blanket, and drove to Bengaluru, eventually reaching Kodagu to dump it. They set the body on fire in a remote area near coffee plantations. Later, Niharika returned to Hyderabad and tried to cover her tracks by filing a missing person report for her husband, Ramesh.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The police received information about the unidentified body in Kodagu and began analyzing CCTV footage from the vicinity. The sighting of a red Mercedes Benz raised suspicion, leading investigators to trace the car’s ownership to Ramesh, who had recently been reported missing by his wife, Niharika. With this lead, the police, in coordination with the Telangana police, interrogated Niharika, who eventually confessed to the murder.
