US Vice President JD Vance Calls for Calm After Kashmir Terror Attack
After the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that killed 26 people, US Vice President JD Vance has shared his concern. In an interview with Fox News, Vance said the US hopes India responds peacefully and that this situation does not grow into a larger regional conflict.
Pakistan Should Cooperate With India, Says Vance
Vance also mentioned that Pakistan must help India catch the terrorists who may be using its land for attacks. He added, “We hope Pakistan cooperates fully to ensure such terrorists are punished.”
Concern Over India-Pakistan Tensions
Vance said he is worried because both India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons, and any tension between them could be dangerous for the region. He stressed the need for calm and cooperation.
Earlier Statement From JD Vance
This is not the first time JD Vance has spoken about the attack. After the incident on April 22, he posted on X (formerly Twitter), offering condolences to the victims. He said he was deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives and praised the beauty and strength of India and its people.
Details of the Pahalgam Attack
The Pahalgam attack was one of the deadliest on civilians in recent years in Kashmir. The terrorists attacked a peaceful meadow area that could only be reached by foot or pony. Among the 26 killed, 25 were tourists and one was a local resident.
Global Reactions
Other top US leaders, including former President Donald Trump, also condemned the attack. They called it an act of terrorism and supported India but did not directly mention Pakistan.
