West Indies Announce New T20I Squad vs Pakistan Amid Injury Setbacks
The West Indies are set to face Pakistan in a three-match T20I series beginning 31 July in Florida, USA. But ahead of the series, they’ve had to tweak their lineup due to injuries and player workload management.
Star Players Ruled Out Due to Injuries
West Indies will miss the services of pacer Alzarri Joseph, who has been rested after back-to-back series against England and Australia. Explosive opener Evin Lewis, who skipped the final T20I vs Australia due to injury, continues to recover and won't feature in the T20Is against Pakistan. His availability for the ODI series starting 8 August is still under watch.
Adding to the list, both Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King have suffered side strains and are also ruled out of the T20I leg. King’s fitness will be reassessed before the ODI games.
Fresh Faces Get the Nod
To fill the gaps, the West Indies selectors have added Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, Shamar Joseph, and Johnson Charles to the squad. The team is aiming to bounce back after a tough series against Australia, where they faced a clean sweep in both T20Is (5-0) and Tests (3-0).
West Indies T20I Squad vs Pakistan:
Shai Hope (Captain), Jewel Andrew, Alick Athanaze, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd.

All Eyes on the Florida Series
After a winless outing against Australia, West Indies will be hungry for redemption. With new energy and returning players, the Caribbean side will look to make a strong impression against a competitive Pakistan unit.
