A young man from Manipal is facing legal trouble after a video of him riding a scooter dangerously was widely shared on social media.

Video Captures Dangerous Riding in Manipal

The incident happened around 2:30 PM on Tuesday near Babbu Swamy Daivasthana Circle. In the video, the rider—identified as Mohammad Afrad—was seen riding a Yamaha Fascino (KA 20 EY 8535) without a helmet and using his phone while riding.

Three Riders on a Two-Wheeler Raises Safety Concerns

The video also showed two women sitting behind the rider, which goes against the legal limit for two-wheeler passengers. This act of overloading the scooter caught the attention of both the public and the police.

Police Register Case After Public Outrage

Due to growing concern over the careless behavior, the Manipal police quickly took action. They investigated the video and registered a case against Afrad on Tuesday. He has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Indian Motor Vehicles (IMV) Act.
