According to a statement from an official, the footfall has now decreased. "Shrine Board authorities have informed that due to a considerable reduction in the flow of pilgrims and urgent repairs and maintenance of the Yatra tracks at vulnerable stretches being undertaken by the Border Roads Organization (BRO), movement of pilgrims on both tracks leading to the Holy Cave is not advisable. Hence, the Yatra shall remain temporarily suspended from both routes with effect from 23rd August, 2023," the statement reads.
