Amit Shah Criticizes Rahul Gandhi for Alleged Anti-India Statements

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of supporting forces that aim to divide India. Shah claimed that making anti-national statements has become a habit for both Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. The remarks come in response to Gandhi's recent critical comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government during his visit to the United States.

Amit Shah’s Accusations

Amit Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly making statements that threaten India's security and unity. Shah pointed out that Gandhi has supported what he described as anti-national agendas in Jammu & Kashmir and made similar statements while abroad. Shah wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Rahul Gandhi has always hurt the nation's sentiments by supporting divisive forces, whether it’s endorsing anti-reservation agendas in J&K or making anti-India remarks on foreign platforms."

Rahul Gandhi's Remarks on Reservation

During his visit to the US, Rahul Gandhi engaged with students at Georgetown University and was asked about the reservation system in India. Gandhi responded by saying that reservations should only be reconsidered once India becomes a fair and equal place. He added that marginalized groups, such as tribals, Dalits, and OBCs, are still not receiving fair representation in the country.

Gandhi further highlighted the need for a caste census, claiming that 90% of the population, including OBCs, Dalits, and Adivasis, lack proper representation in India's system of governance. He described this as the “elephant in the room” that India needs to address.

Amit Shah's Response to Reservation Comments

In response to Gandhi’s remarks on reservations, Amit Shah claimed that Rahul Gandhi had exposed the Congress party's alleged anti-reservation position. He stated that by discussing the possibility of scrapping reservations, Gandhi had revealed the true stance of the Congress. Shah also emphasized that as long as the BJP remained in power, neither the abolition of reservations nor any compromise on India’s security would be permitted.

Shah stressed that the BJP stands firmly in favor of reservations and national security, and will not allow any changes to either under its watch.
