Amit Shah in Ahmedabad- Inaugurates 1,650 crore worth projects
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Ahmedabad in Gujarat today to launch and inaugurate a series of projects. The Home Minister inaugurated development projects worth 1,650 crores for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA).
Amit Shah also inaugurated a lake at Tragad and Lalita Govind Udyan. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, along with other ministers, accompanied the Union Home Minister. During his visit, Shah also handed over the keys of new houses built under the Awaas Yojna to the people. The Home Minister also addressed the public present at the moment.
The Union Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at Palaj in Gandhinagar. The Minister also serves as the Member of Parliament from Gandhinagar.
The projects launched/inaugurated by the Union Minister include water supply projects, pink toilets, and the foundation laying for the renovation work of five lakes in the surrounding villages of Ahmedabad.
The Union Minister took to Twitter to share about his visit. Amit Shah performed the ritual of Bhumi Pujan for the Okaf lake renovation work. The Minister said, "Today, the foundation stone of Okaf Lake renovation work was laid in Sarkhej, Gujarat. On one hand the renovation of this lake will collect rain water which will increase the water level of the area and on the other hand its beautification will provide a great place for children to play and adults to walk."
Union Minister Amit Shah said that the redevelopment would act as a boon to the area where the water level was degrading. The redevelopment will transform the entire area and lead to beautification as well. The work will be carried out by AMC under NLCP.
