Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a significant announcement on Sunday, revealing that the Kashmiri separatist group Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) has officially been designated as an 'Unlawful Association' under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This decision is a direct response to the organization's involvement in prohibited activities aimed at the separation of Jammu and Kashmir from India and the establishment of Islamic rule.

In a social media post, Shah declared, "The ‘Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, J&K (TeH) has been declared an 'Unlawful Association' under UAPA. The outfit is involved in forbidden activities to separate J&K from India and establish Islamic rule. The group is found spreading anti-India propaganda and continuing terror activities to fuel secessionism in J&K. Under PM @narendramodi"

The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has long been under scrutiny for its alleged role in disseminating anti-India propaganda and supporting activities that contribute to secessionism in the sensitive region of Jammu and Kashmir. The organization has faced accusations of participating in terror-related activities to advance its objectives.

Shah underscored the government's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. This declaration aligns with the government's determination to curb activities that pose a threat to India's unity and security.
