Cyclone Michaung : Chennai Airport will remain closed today till 11:30 pm
Due to the heavy downpour brought on by the severe cyclonic storm Michaung, daily life in Chennai is being disrupted. The administration has made the decision to keep the Chennai airport closed until 11:30 PM on Monday due to the severe winds and prolonged period of rain. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Michaung is predicted to pass over the coast of South Andhra Pradesh on Monday between Nellore and Machilipatnam (IMD). The strong cyclonic storm is predicted to maintain winds of 80–90 kmph, with the potential to reach 100 kmph in certain areas. Images of cars drifting through Chennai's flooded streets are circulating on social media.

10 Flights being cancelled and 20 being delayed
Due to the heavy rain that started at midnight, Cyclone Michaung also caused several flight disruptions, with 10 flights being canceled and 20 being delayed.
