UP Police Recruitment 2026: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a significant announcement. He stated that this year, recruitment will be conducted for over 81,000 posts within the UP Police force. This comes as great news for young aspirants dreaming of joining the UP Police. This year, recruitment is slated for more than 81,000 vacancies within the force. This information was personally shared by the state's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath.
He remarked that the financial year 2026-27 is set to be a pivotal period for youths preparing to join the Uttar Pradesh Police Force.
Preparations are currently underway to recruit for over 81,000 positions within the UP Police this year. The Chief Minister added that this recruitment drive will not only provide employment opportunities to the youth but also equip the state with a competent, dynamic, and modern police force.
The positions open for recruitment include roles such as Sub-Inspector, Civil Police Constable, Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade-A, and Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential).
Recruitment is proposed for over 81,000 posts across various categories, including Sub-Inspector, Civil Police Constable, Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade-A, and Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential). The recruitment process for some of these positions has already commenced. The Chief Minister directed the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board to ensure that all direct recruitments are conducted with complete transparency, impartiality, and in strict accordance with established reservation provisions. He emphasized the need to make the recruitment process technology-driven and to complete it within the stipulated timeframe.
Recruitment Process Likely to Conclude by December
CM Yogi also issued directives to strictly adhere to merit-based criteria and reservation regulations in every selection. It is anticipated that this recruitment process could be completed by December 2026. Notably, CM Yogi was conducting a late-night review on Thursday of the ongoing activities and future action plans of various units within the Police Department. During this review, he further stated that equal emphasis must be placed on modern technology, transparent operational procedures, and competent human resources to further strengthen law and order.
UP Police Gains Over 900 SIs and ASIs This Year
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) had announced vacancies for a total of 921 posts in 2023, the final results for which have recently been declared. The Board has also extended its congratulations to all the selected candidates. The posts for which recruitment was conducted include 268 positions for Sub-Inspector (Confidential), 449 positions for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerical), and 204 positions for Sub-Inspector (Accounts).
