Rahul Ravindran praises Mrunal Thakur’s emotional depth, says her performances in Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna deeply move audiences.
South Indian actor, director and screenwriter Rahul Ravindran expressed admiration towards Mrunal Thakur’s deeply emotive performances in her widely loved films, Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna. During a recently held event for Thakur’s latest release ‘Dacoit’, Ravindran shared his experience of watching - and feeling - Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, and revealed that everytime Mrunal got emotional on-screen, she left the audience visibly moved too. And Rahul Ravindran’s words of admiration lay strong emphasis on Mrunal Thakur’s emotional depth and her ability to connect deeply with the audience.
“Mrunal Thakur has this beautiful gift,” he states and adds, “I remember watching Sita Ramam in the theatre and I also remember watching Hi Nanna in the theatre. Everytime your eyes got moist on-screen and everytime you got emotional on-screen, I was just looking around in the theatre - when you get emotional, you make everybody emotional.”
He continued by revealing how significantly it created an impact on the audience in the theatre. “I heard so many sniffles, I saw so many people wiping tears, I can only imagine what's going to happen in this film (Dacoit). I watched this film in the edit room and I was getting emotional; I was getting moist-eyed. You are fantastic and radiant in the film. You have lovely, happy, cheerful eyes that everytime you become emotional in an emotional scene, it suddenly becomes so deep. There's this sadness that pours from deep within.”
Sita Ramam (2022) and Hi Nanna (2023) are considered some of the best titles in Mrunal Thakur’s evolving filmography. With Dacoit already released in theatres on 10th April and the positive reviews pouring in, with many hailing its technical brilliance and gripping sequences, Mrunal adds another strong title to her body of work. In fact, it even received a glowing reaction from Thakur’s Hi Nanna co-star, Nani. Calling it a true blockbuster, Nani praised Mrunal’s performance and wrote, “How beautifully you have immersed to this one. One more feather in your hat.”
After Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, Mrunal brings another prolific work to the fore with Dacoit. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film has begun its theatrical run.
