Online Gaming Bill 2025 has been approved by the President Draupadi Murmu. With the President's approval, the way to ban fantasy gaming has also been cleared.
Online Gaming Bill Gets President Approval: The Online Gaming Bill was passed during the recent monsoon session of Parliament. The Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Bill, passed by both the Houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, has now got the President's approval. With this, the way to ban fantasy gaming apps has now been cleared. After the implementation of this law, fantasy leagues, card games, online lottery, poker, rummy and betting have been completely banned. It is worth noting that the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on August 20 and the Rajya Sabha on August 21.
