Heavy increase in LPG prices, know how much the cylinder cost from April 8 will

LPG Price Hike: The kitchen of the common man has become expensive. The price of domestic cylinder has increased by Rs 50. The new prices will come into effect from April 8. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information on Monday. Apart from this, the government has also increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2. He said that the price of domestic gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 50. From 500 it will become 550 (for PMUY beneficiaries) and for other consumers it will Rs 853. Will review in 2-3 weeks

He further said that we review it every 2-3 weeks. So, the increase in excise duty that you have seen will not be passed on to the consumers. The purpose of that excise duty hike is to compensate the oil marketing companies for Rs 43,000 crore, which they have incurred as a loss on the gas share.

Price of commercial cylinders was reduced

Let us tell you that on April 1, 2025, there was a cut in the price of commercial cylinders. Government oil companies had announced a reduction in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder. In Delhi, its price came down by Rs 41 to Rs 1762, which was earlier Rs 1803. This reduction ranged from Rs 41 to Rs 44.50 in different cities. The price in Kolkata was reduced by Rs 44.50 to Rs 1868.50, in Mumbai by Rs 42 to Rs 1713.50, and in Chennai by Rs 43.50 to Rs 1921.50. However, there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinder (14.2 kg). This reduction was made with the beginning of the new financial year 2025-26.
