In September, WhatsApp banned 71.1 lakh accounts in India: Check what report states!
In the period from September 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, 7,111,000 WhatsApp accounts were banned. The WhatsApp report states that before any user reports were received, 2,571,000 of these accounts were proactively banned. PTI claims that 2.57 million of these accounts were proactively banned before any user reports were received. Based on the received reports, actions were taken regarding a total of 85 accounts. WhatsApp explained that the term "Accounts Actioned" describes situations in which they have taken corrective action in response to issues that have been reported. This could include either prohibiting an account or recovering a previously banned account as a result of a complaint. It also said that WhatsApp resolves all complaints, except those that are found to be duplicates of earlier tickets. The report made it clear that complaints about safety on the platform are about possible abuse or dangerous activity.
