Internet services resumed in four hill districts in Manipur. Acting on the orders of the high court, security personnel on Thursday confirmed that the state government has lifted up the ban on internet services in four district headquarters of Manipur. The Manipur High Court ordered the state government to operationalize mobile towers in districts unaffected by violence. These districts are Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel, and Tamenglong. Mobile internet services will be resumed on trial in these district headquarters. These districts are Naga majority areas. Mobile internet services will be resumed in these districts by Tuesday. When asked about the resumption of internet services in these districts an official of Ukhrul district administration said "Only in district headquarters, a few selected mobile towers have been operationalized. But the connectivity is poor. The restoration will be done on a trial basis". Due to ethnic clashes in Manipur, the internet has been suspended since May 3 apart from a short window in September. Manipur has been suffering from ethnic clashes and the aftermath of violence. A total of 180 people have been killed since the violence broke out on May 3.
