Mohan Yadav, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Ujjain South and leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), has been named the state's new chief minister. Following BJP's victory in the recently held Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections, the saffron party selected the state's former education minister to serve as the next chief minister. Mohan Yadav is a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) member. Mohan Yadav represents the Ujjain district's Dakshin constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. 2013 saw him win the Ujjain Dakshin seat and become an MLA for the first time. He was elected again in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, this time representing the Ujjain Dakshin seat as an MLA. In the Madhya Pradesh government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he was sworn in as a cabinet minister on July 2, 2020.
