'Flying Fairy' PT Usha suffers a great loss; husband V Srinivasan passes away
IOA President and Rajya Sabha MP PT Usha's husband, V Srinivasan, passed away at the age of 67. He was taken to the hospital after his health deteriorated at home early in the morning, where he was declared dead. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences. Srinivasan was a strong pillar of support in Usha's life.
V Srinivasan, husband of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President and Rajya Sabha MP PT Usha, popularly known as the 'Flying Fairy', passed away early Friday morning.
He was 67 years old. According to family sources, Srinivasan suddenly collapsed at his residence, after which he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors could not save him.
Srinivasan, a former central government employee, always stood by PT Usha in her sporting and political career. He was considered the strongest pillar behind Usha's success.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to PT Usha over the phone and expressed his deep condolences on the death of her husband. The couple has a son, Ujjwal. Srinivasan's death has sent a wave of grief through the sports and social world.

PT Usha married him on April 25, 1991. Srinivasan was a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) inspector. He was also a (kabaddi) player.
Summary
PT Usha became the first Indian woman to reach the final of the 400-meter hurdles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where she missed out on a bronze medal by just 1/100th of a second. She has been awarded the Padma Shri and Arjuna Award by the Government of India.
