On National Unity Day, PM Modi paid tribute to him: Why is this day significant?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the country on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhai Patel's birth anniversary on Tuesday. In remembering Sardar Patel's contributions to the nation, Prime Minister Modi stated that his commitment to national integration continues to guide citizens. Notably, the central force is based on the visions of Sardar Patel, who is also regarded as the CRPF's founder. At the event, artists from villages near the border between China and India performed as well. The birth anniversary is celebrated as 'Rashtriya Ekta Divas,' which is marked by a 'Run for Unity' rally flagged off by Shah from the national capital's Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. A Unity oath was administered after the flagging off. Amit Shah recalled Sardar Patel's contribution to national unity and stated that the country's first Home Minister is the reason for a united India. During his speech, Shah mentioned how Sardar Patel worked to unite all the principalities the British had divided at the time of India's independence.
