No more electricity bill hassles
The PM Surya Ghar Yojana is proving to be extremely beneficial for families struggling with high electricity bills. Under this government scheme, you can invest money just once and use electricity with zero bills for more than the next two decades. This is because the lifespan of the solar panels installed on the rooftops under this scheme is generally estimated to be around 25 years. However, before installation, it is essential to estimate your daily electricity consumption under the scheme. Install a panel of the appropriate capacity.
Free electricity and substantial subsidy
The government provides 300 units of free electricity under this scheme, and also offers a substantial subsidy for installing solar panels. The government provides a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt for up to 2 kilowatts, Rs 48,000 per kilowatt for up to 3 kilowatts, and Rs 78,000 for more than 3 kilowatts. Install panels based on your capacity
Let's say your house has 2-3 fans, a refrigerator, 6-8 LED lights, an AC or room heater, and a geyser. Then you might need about 8 or 10 units of electricity every day. In this case, you can install a 2-kilowatt capacity solar panel on your rooftop. You can increase or decrease the capacity of the solar panel according to your household consumption.
