Prime Minister Modi to Unveil Ambitious National Highway Projects Across India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's whirlwind campaign across 12 states in 10 days culminates in a landmark event as he heads to Gurugram, Haryana, on March 11. The occasion marks the inauguration of 112 National Highway projects, a monumental endeavor set to transform India's infrastructure landscape with an estimated investment of Rs.1 lakh crore.

The Dwarka Expressway Inauguration

Among the key highlights of the event is the inauguration of the Haryana segment of the Dwarka Expressway, a crucial artery designed to alleviate traffic congestion and streamline travel between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48. The 19-kilometer stretch, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 4,100 crore, encompasses two pivotal sections: the Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the Basai ROB to Kherki Daula, facilitating direct connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the Gurugram Bypass.

Enhancing National Connectivity

Emphasizing the significance of these initiatives, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) underscores their pivotal role in expanding the National Highway network. Moreover, these projects are poised to stimulate employment opportunities, foster trade, and bolster the national economy.

Key Projects Across States

In addition to the Dwarka Expressway, PM Modi will inaugurate several other pivotal projects across various states. Noteworthy among these are the Lucknow Ring Road and the Anandapuram - Pendurthi - Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, the Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, and the Dobaspet - Heskote section in Karnataka, among others. ANI reports a total of 42 projects amounting to Rs. 20,500 crores across different states.

Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony

In a symbolic gesture, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for numerous National Highway projects, signifying a commitment to future infrastructure development. These encompass notable initiatives such as the Bengaluru - Kadappa - Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, the section of NH-748A from Belgaum to Hungund to Raichur in Karnataka, and the Shamli - Ambala Highway in Haryana, among various others.
