Test drives of Tata Sierra to begin from this date, the SUV starts reaching dealerships

The 2025 Sierra is built on Tata's new ARGOS platform (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy, Geometry Scalable), which supports both ICE and EV powertrains. It is India's first ICE vehicle to feature Tata's TiDAL 2.0 Ethernet-based electrical architecture.

Test Drives Of Tata Sierra:  Bookings for Tata's new SUV, the Sierra, have begun. Notably, more than 70,000 units of the Tata Sierra were booked on the very first day. Now, the Tata Sierra has started arriving at dealerships in Delhi, and display models are visible in several showrooms across the city. Customers can view this mid-size SUV up close, but Tata Motors has confirmed that test drives will begin in January 2026, when it arrives at all dealerships nationwide.
It has already received bookings from 70,000 people in a single day.

It is positioned below the Harrier in Tata's SUV lineup and competes in the mid-size SUV segment, which includes vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Bookings for the Sierra have already begun on December 16th, and deliveries will commence on January 15, 2026.

Powertrain Options

At launch, the Sierra is available with only petrol and diesel engine options. It comes with three 1.5-liter engines: Kryojet diesel, Hyperion TGDi turbo-petrol, and Revotron naturally aspirated petrol. All variants offer both manual and automatic gearbox options. Tata Motors has also confirmed that a fully electric Sierra, built on the same platform, will be introduced later.

Platform, Technology, and Safety

The 2025 Sierra is built on Tata's new ARGOS platform (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy, Geometry Scalable), which supports both ICE and EV powertrains. Safety has been a key focus for the Sierra.

Summary

Crash tests were conducted on two prototypes to simulate real-world conditions. It comes standard with 6 airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners, while the top variants offer up to 22 features of Level-2 ADAS.
