Anant Ambani unveiled "Vantara Program" for animal rescue and care
The Ambani-led Reliance Foundation unveiled a new chapter in animal care – the Vantara Program. Spearheaded by Shri Anant Ambani, this unique initiative focuses on rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating animals in need. Nestled within the lush greenery of Reliance's Jamnagar refinery complex in Gujarat, Vantara covers a whopping 3000 acres, creating a haven for injured, abused, and endangered animals.
Anant Ambani, a key figure on the Board of RIL and Reliance Foundation, envisioned Vantara as more than just a sanctuary. It's a global effort aimed at setting the standard for wildlife conservation. The vast site has been transformed into a natural habitat resembling a forest, offering a happy home for the rescued animals.
Under Anant Ambani's leadership, Vantara not only focuses on providing top-notch care but also collaborates with global experts and institutions like the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF). The program has already made significant strides, rescuing over 200 elephants and various other animals, reptiles, and birds from precarious situations.

The Elephant Center at Vantara is a testament to its commitment. Spread over 3000 acres, it boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including shelters, day and night enclosures, hydrotherapy pools, and a giant elephant Jacuzzi. With over 200 elephants in its care, the center operates with a specialized and trained staff of over 500 individuals, including veterinarians, biologists, and nutritionists.
The center houses the world's largest elephant hospital, equipped with advanced medical technology for treatments, surgeries, and diagnostics.
