In the lesbien marriage-themed film Badhaai Do, which also starred Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi played the part of a lesbian girl named Sumi. Previously, in an award show, she continued to get praise and honors for her work, which she dedicates to India’s queer population. “Throughout the year, I have won numerous accolades for this film, which I made in support of the LGBTQIA community in India. Because it also attempted to effect change, Badhaai Do would rank at the very top of her filmography, she says.
Bhumi Pednekar will next be seen in the movies Bheed by Anubhav Sinha, The Ladykiller by Ajay Bahl, Afwaa by Sudhir Mishra , Bhakshak by Gauri Khan , Mere Husband Ki Biwi by Mudassar Aziz, and a few other unnamed projects.
Harshvardhan Kulkarni, who previously directed Gulshan Devaiah’s Hunterrr, produced Badhaai Do under the banner of Junglee Pictures (2015). Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who also co-wrote the script for Badhaai Ho, are responsible for it.
