Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed strong optimism about the state's ascendancy as the nation's top green energy generator.

While inaugurating three pumped storage power projects generating a combined 5,314 MW in Nandyal district, he emphasized their eco-friendliness and potential to reduce fossil fuel dependency.

Projects laid by Jagan include Greenko's 2,300 MW solar plant in Junuthala village, AM Green Energy's 700 MW solar and 314 MW wind plants in Kandikayapalle village, and Ecoren Energy's 1,000 MW solar and wind initiatives in Muddavaram village. These ventures, totaling investments of ₹10,350 crore, ₹4,500 crore, and ₹11,000 crore respectively, are poised to create 2,300, 1,000, and 2,000 jobs.

Jagan also unveiled a white paper on green hydrogen investment opportunities and disclosed plans for 37 pump storage units producing 41,000 MW. Detailed project reports for 20,900 MW are ready, with 16,180 MW approved for commencement.

A memorandum of understanding was signed with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) for 1,000 MW and 950 MW pump storage units, fostering an investment of ₹10,000 crore and offering 2,000 jobs.

These initiatives, coupled with the ongoing 8,999 MW solar and wind power production, solidify Andhra Pradesh's position in the green energy forefront.
