The victim of the Unnao rape case has approached the CBI, alleging collusion between the then investigating officer and Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Another Twist In Unnao Rape Case: A major twist has emerged in the infamous Unnao rape case of 2017. The victim in this case has demanded that the CBI register an FIR against the former investigating officer. The victim alleges that the investigating officer colluded with former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was convicted in the case, and influenced the investigation. She alleges that deliberate omissions were made in the investigation and facts were manipulated to give the accused a better legal position.
The victim has also alleged that she and her family are constantly receiving threats from various sources. Amidst this fear and pressure, she has demanded criminal action against the investigating officer from the CBI. Unnao rape case has approached the CBI
This entire development comes at a time when the Delhi High Court recently granted conditional bail to Kuldeep Singh Sengar and suspended the life sentence handed down in the rape case. However, the former MLA will remain in jail as he is serving a 10-year sentence in the custodial death case of the rape victim's father.
The victim has also alleged that she and her family are constantly receiving threats from various sources. The charge sheet identified her as a student of a government school and showed a different date of birth, while she claims that she never enrolled in that school. She also claimed that the charge sheet stated that she was using a mobile phone belonging to a woman named Heera Singh, whereas she never used that phone. Furthermore, she alleged that several statements in the charge sheet were falsely attributed to her. The victim stated that she had previously filed a complaint against the investigating officer, but no action was taken. She also cited the trial court's order, in which the court had questioned the manner in which the investigating officer recorded the statements.
Summary
The trial court, in its order, had remarked that there was more to the story than what appeared on the surface. The court stated that the investigation was not conducted properly. The investigating officer's conduct appeared to be aimed at undermining the statements of the victim and her family.
