Apple Unveils iPhone 16 Series with A18 Chipset, Slashes Prices on iPhone 15 and 14
Apple introduced its latest iPhone 16 series at the "It’s Glowtime" event on Monday. As is tradition, Apple reduced prices on older iPhone models and discontinued some products after launching the new series.
Price Cuts on iPhone 15 and 14
After its launch last year at Rs. 79,900, the iPhone 15 has now seen a Rs. 10,000 price drop, bringing it down to Rs. 69,900. Similarly, the iPhone 15 Plus, which was previously priced at Rs. 89,900, is now available for Rs. 79,900.
The iPhone 14 series has also seen a price cut. The iPhone 14 now costs Rs. 59,900, and the iPhone 14 Plus is available at Rs. 69,000. These are official Apple store prices, and discounts on e-commerce platforms during sales might offer even lower prices.
iPhone 16 Specifications
The new iPhone 16 models are powered by the A18 chipset, featuring 3nm technology with a 6-core CPU, delivering a 30% faster CPU and 40% faster GPU performance compared to the previous model. Despite these upgrades, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus start at the same prices as last year: Rs. 79,900 for iPhone 16 and Rs. 89,900 for iPhone 16 Plus.
New Features in iPhone 16
A standout feature in the iPhone 16 lineup is the addition of the Action Button, previously exclusive to Pro models. This button allows users to quickly access features like the camera, flashlight, voice memos, and more with a single press. Additionally, all four models include a new Camera Control feature, enhancing user interaction with the camera's settings and functions.
The higher storage options for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are priced as follows:
