Voter counting for the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly began on Sunday at 8 a.m.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading with 51 seats in the 90-member legislative assembly, while the Congress is closely behind with 37, according to early trends in the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections.

Based on the preliminary counting results, there appears to be intense competition between the Congress and the BJP, with both parties gaining substantial ground in different constituencies.

Encouraged by these encouraging signs, Arun Sao, the president of the Chhattisgarh BJP, unleashed a vicious attack on the Congress party, claiming that their leadership has destroyed the state over the past five years.

Sao expressed confidence in the BJP's ability to protect the state's interests, asserting that the people of Chhattisgarh were well aware of the perceived flaws of the Congress-led government.

In Chhattisgarh, 76.31% of voters cast ballots

Voting for the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly began on Sunday at 8 a.m., with heavy security in place at all 33 districts' counting centers, including those impacted by Left Wing Extremism (LWE). Excellent voter turnout of 76.31% was observed during the two-phased election process on November 7 and 17.
