Grand celebration of the 75th anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's in Ahmedabad, devotees from India and abroad gathered

Pramukhvarni Amrit Mahotsav:   The grand celebration of the Pramukhvarni Amrit Mahotsav of the BAPS (Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) began in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This event is being celebrated to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's appointment as the President of BAPS.

The grand celebration of the Pramukhvarni Amrit Mahotsav of the BAPS (Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) began in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This event is being celebrated to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's appointment as the President of BAPS.

The festival attracted a large number of devotees from India and abroad. BAPS's journey, which began at Ambli Wali Pol in Ahmedabad, has now expanded to all major continents. The organization's temples are established worldwide as centers of spirituality, peace, and service. Devotees from many countries are also present at this event, expressing their devotion to Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

A BAPS volunteer told, "Pramukh Swami Maharaj was appointed as the organization's president in 1950 at Ambli Wali Pol in Shahpur, Ahmedabad. This historic event marks 75 years since this momentous event, and therefore, the Pramukh Varni Amrit Mahotsav has been organized."

He said that Pramukh Swami Maharaj performed unparalleled social, spiritual, and global service throughout his life, and Mahant Swami Maharaj is currently carrying on that tradition.

The volunteer explained that the main message of this festival is that everyone should take inspiration from Pramukh Swami Maharaj's sacrifice, compassion, and selfless service and pursue the path of service and human welfare in their lives. The festival also featured a special display of saintly glories and the ideal qualities of saints. Preparations for this event have been underway for the past three months, involving over 100 saints and approximately seven thousand volunteers.

A devotee noted that today marks the 75th anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's appointment as the head of the BAPS organization. The 75 tableaux displayed here reflect the virtues of his life and are inspired by the teachings of the four scriptures. Devotees explained that each tableau showcases some aspect of Pramukh Swami Maharaj's asceticism, sacrifice, restraint, service, and compassion.

BAPS's Pujya Vivekjivan Swami stated that the festival's theme, "From Ambli Wali Pol to Akshardham," symbolizes Pramukh Swami Maharaj's spiritual journey. He said that on May 21, 1950, at the small place of Ambli Wali Pole, Shastriji Maharaj appointed him president of BAPS at the age of 28. He later became the organization's guru in 1971 and spread the message of spirituality and service around the world.
