After arriving at the Nagar, he would smoke20 cigarettes and consume 20 rajanigandha pans daily, spending around 15,000 rs per month.A swami with whom he was serving encouraged him to work on giving up his addiction. He was eventually able to cut his intake of cigarettes to one or two a day, and on 19 September 2022, the birthday of Mahant Swami Maharaj, he gave up his addiction entirely.
