Before Diwali, IRCTC introduced 'North East Discovery' train excursion package: Check all details here
Under the Bharat Gaurav Train scheme, IRCTC has announced the 'North East Discovery' train excursion package, which will travel across northeastern frontier states.
North East India is a one-of-a-kind combination of beautiful scenery, pleasant weather, diverse biodiversity, rare wildlife, historical sites, ethnic heritage, and, most importantly, friendly people.
The 14-night, 15-day train journey begins in Delhi on November 16 and will visit five North Eastern states:
- Assam
- Arunachal Pradesh
- Nagaland
- Tripura
- Meghalaya.
Budget of the tour
The tour price ranges from 75,000 to 1.37 lakhs, according to the number of people traveling and the train category chosen.
The tour includes stops at Guwahati, Naharlagun, Sibsagar Town, Furkating, Kumarghat, Agartala, and Dimapur.
In Assam, the Kamakhya Temple, Brahmaputra River, Umananda Temple, Jorhat Tea Estates, and Kaziranga National Park will be visited. Gompa Buddhist temple and Theravada Buddhist temple will be covered in Itanagar.
The itinerary also includes Sibsagar (the Ahom Kingdom's capital), Shiva Temple, Ahom palaces and monuments, the Shaivite site Unakoti in Tripura, Neermahal, Tripura Sundari (Shakti temple), Khonoma Village, War Cemetery, and Cathedral Church.
Then, in Meghalaya, there will be stops at the Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park and Ward's Lake, Cherrapunji - Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Nawkhalikai Falls, and Mawsmai Caves.
What is included in package?
Travel by luxury AC tourist train in designated classes, spend five nights in luxury AC hotels for AC I and II and in budget hotels (with AC rooms) for AC III in accordance with the itinerary, During the overnight train journey, you will spend nine nights in separate rail coaches.
You will also enjoy all vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as all transfers and sightseeing in air-conditioned vehicles. Other activities include a Brahmaputra river cruise and a Jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park. It Will include Passenger travel insurance plus any applicable taxes.
Package options
There are three package options: 1AC (Coupe), 1AC (Cabin), and 2AC, each with 24, 48, 48, and 84 seats.
The cost of 1AC (Coupe) for twin sharing is Rs. 1, 37,115. 1AC (Cabin) costs Rs.1,42,310 for single occupancy, Rs.1,23,260 for double occupancy, and Rs.1,20,535 for triple occupancy.
Prices for 2AC are as follows: Rs.1, 35,045 for single occupancy, Rs.1,15,990 for double occupancy, and Rs.1,13,270 for triple occupancy. The 3AC is priced between Rs. 87, 000 and Rs.75, 000.
A Child (5-11 years) will pay 1, 11,315 for 1AC (Cabin), 1,04,045 for 2AC, and 69,750 for 3AC.
