Bengaluru Airport received title of "most beautiful airport in the world by UNSESCO

In a recent announcement from UNESCO's Prix Versailles 2023, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru managed to distinguish itself. It was named the "most beautiful airport in the world" and received the prestigious "World Special Prize for an Interior 2023."

Presided over by renowned fashion designer Elie Saab, the Prix Versailles 2023 globe judges panel announced the most recent architectural proposals to win a global title. The only airport in India to be awarded this esteemed title is Bengaluru Airport.

This international recognition demonstrates the airport's dedication to outstanding architecture and design on a worldwide basis.

The World Special Prize for an Interior 2023 in the airport's category was won by Kempegowda International Airport, Terminal 2, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the people of Bengaluru and described it as a "commendable feat".

PM Modi posted clips from the Terminal building's inauguration from last year on X, formerly Twitter.

In addition, in October of this year, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport took the lead as the most punctual airport globally. The on-time departure ranking indicates the proportion of flights that took off within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

According to a previous BIAL announcement, Kempegowda International Airport, run by Bangalore International Airport Limited, provided travelers with an "impressive" on-time departure experience, with 87.51 percent of passengers arriving on time in July, 89.66 percent in August, and 88.51 percent in September. The airport in Bengaluru declared on August 31 that international operations would start at Terminal 2.
