Bhajanlal Sharma, a first-time MLA from Sanganer, was chosen by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the role of Chief Minister in Rajasthan. Hailing from Bharatpur in the eastern district, Sharma enjoys robust support from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Currently serving as the BJP's state general secretary, Bhajanlal Sharma holds a master's degree in political science. In the recent elections, he secured a significant victory in the Sanganer assembly constituency, garnering 145,162 votes against his Indian National Congress (INC) rival, Pushpendra Bhardwaj, who received 97,081 votes.
The team, including Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari, met the Governor to formalize their bid for government formation. Diya Kumari emerged victorious in the Vidyadhar Nagar constituency, defeating Congress' Sitaram Agarwal by a margin of 71,368 votes.
Contrary to some pollsters' predictions, the BJP is set to lead the government in Rajasthan with 115 seats, while the Congress trails behind with 69 seats. The state witnessed elections for 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25, and the majority mark stands at 100.
