BJP's Nayab Singh Saini Takes Oath as Haryana Chief Minister
Nayab Singh Saini took oath as CM: On Thursday, Nayab Singh Saini took the oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana, marking the BJP’s return to power for a record third time in the state. This victory cements the party's stronghold in Haryana, as it secured 48 seats in the 90-member assembly, while the Congress managed to win 37 seats.
Key Leaders Sworn in as Ministers
Along with Saini, several prominent BJP leaders were sworn in as Cabinet ministers. Anil Vij, a seven-time MLA from Ambala Cantt and former state Home Minister, took the oath as Cabinet Minister. Shruti Chaudhary, MLA from Tosham and daughter of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Chaudhary, also became a minister. Notably, Shruti is the granddaughter of former Haryana Chief Minister Banshi Lal.
Krishan Lal Panwar, MLA from Israna, was another key figure inducted into the Cabinet. Panwar, who previously served as the Transport and Housing Minister in the Khattar government, has had a long political career, including being a Rajya Sabha MP from 2020 to 2024.
New Ministers in Saini’s Cabinet
Other prominent leaders who took the oath include Rao Narbir Singh from Badshahpur, Krishan Bedi from Narwana, and Mahipal Dhandha, a Jat leader and MLA from Panipat Rural. Vipul Goel, MLA from Faridabad, and Arvind Kumar Sharma, BJP's Brahmin face and Gohana MLA, also joined Saini’s Cabinet.
Additionally, Shyam Singh Rana from Radaur, Ranbir Singh Gangwa, a two-time MLA and former deputy speaker of the Haryana Assembly, and Arti Singh Rao from the Ahir community were inducted as ministers. Rajesh Nagar Gurjar from Tigaon took the oath as a junior minister with independent charge, while Gaurav Gautam, MLA from Palwal and a representative of the Brahmin community, was also included.
Oath Ceremony Attended by Top BJP Leaders
The oath-taking ceremony was a grand event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other top BJP leaders like Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. NDA allies, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, also graced the occasion.
A Moment of Spiritual Significance
Before the oath ceremony, Saini paid visits to Valmiki Bhawan, a gurdwara, and the Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula, seeking blessings for his new term as Chief Minister.

The Road Ahead for Saini’s Government
At 54, Nayab Singh Saini, who was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party, now leads a 14-member Cabinet, including himself. The BJP’s unprecedented third consecutive term in Haryana signifies a strong mandate, with expectations for continued development and progress in the state.
