In an alarming incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel sustained injuries due to unprovoked firing by Pakistani Rangers along the international border in the Ramgarh sector of Sambha district, Jammu, and Kashmir. The unsettling event took place during the night of November 8-9, prompting swift action from the BSF troops stationed in the region.

Swift Medical Response

The injured BSF personnel was quickly evacuated from the Narayanpur post and rushed to a nearby medical facility for immediate treatment. According to reports from Ramgarh Community Health Centre Block Medical Officer Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, the injured BSF jawan arrived at the center for treatment at approximately 1 am.

Unprovoked Firing

The unprovoked firing by Pakistani Rangers sent shockwaves through the Ramgarh area, causing villagers to seek refuge in bunkers as a precautionary measure.

This marks the third ceasefire violation within 24 days by Pakistani Rangers along the International Border in the Jammu frontier and the sixth violation overall since both sides signed a ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021. On October 28, Pakistan Rangers engaged in intense firing and shelling for nearly seven hours, resulting in injuries to two BSF jawans and a woman. Similarly, on October 17, unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers in the Arnia sector left two BSF personnel injured.

Border Security

The BSF has formally protested these two unprovoked cross-border firing incidents during commandant-level flag meetings with Pakistan Rangers. The situation along the border remains tense as authorities monitor and respond to these violations to ensure the safety of the region's residents and security forces.
